    "Brazil Nuts" depicts a pair of Hyacinth Macaws (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) in a cecropia tree. At approximately 100cm in length and up to 1.5kg in weight,they are the largest member of the parrot family. Their plumage is a gorgeous deep cobalt blue becoming almost violet on the wings. The Hyacinth macaw's preferred habitat is tropical lowland forest, usually near streams or rivers, and palm groves where it feeds on seeds, fruits and its favourite food palm nuts.These birds are listed as an endangered species and the main stronghold for the remaining wild population is the Pantanal in Brazil.
